An online project using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) by University of Illinois. It allows students access to the microscope world of bugs and become microscopists themselves--the kids can propose the experiments, explore insect specimens at high-magnification, and discuss what they see with scientists from Beckmen Institute.

Climate Classroom: what's up with global warming
Created by the National Wildlife Foundation, Climate Classroom is geared toward students in greades 4-12. Teachers can find read-to-use lesson plans about the changing climate, quizzes and activities for students to use.

The Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention & Innovation
Founded in 1995 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History , the center offers theme-based videos, virtual exhibits and explorations (Centerpieces), interactive games that spark a child's creativity and problem-solving skills (Invention at play), and lab activities targeted at families with children ages 6-12 (Spark!Lab).

It provides resources that address every possible topic from cell phones to family vacations. Companion sites Kids.gov and Teens.gov offer students information, activities, games, and valuable guidance relating to government, education, safety, and daily life.
